Level 1 covers the basics of title opinion anatomy, types of title opinions, drafting conveyances, ownership of oil, gas, and minerals, conveyancing formalities, oil, gas, and mineral leases, and various clauses and covenants related to leases. The course material includes relevant casebooks, treatises, and handbooks, as well as additional resources from Lexis and Westlaw, which are available from the Foundation for Natural Resources and Energy Law (FNREL). The Texas Title Examination Standards and Oil, Gas & Energy Resources Law (OGERL) are also available for reference.
